RTRNA CUP FAQ’s
HOW DOES IT WORK?
We all have good intentions when it comes to waste, but the reality is that when you’re busting out the door in the morning it’s easy to forget your keeper cup. So, we’ve found a better alternative. A simple and affordable way to enjoy your coffee and limit waste headed for landfill.
We’re running a trial with RTRNA Cup. Instead of accepting disposable cups, you can choose a RTRNA Cup and for a small refundable deposit you can take the cup home with you. Simply bring the cup back next time and we will reuse it, exchange it for a new cup or refund your deposit.
WHAT IF I FORGET TO BRING MY RTRNA CUP BACK?
No dramas. That’s what makes RTRNA Cup such a great system. We will still give you your coffee in a RTRNA cup, you pay the small deposit and just bring back both cups next time for a full refund of your deposit. You don’t even have to order a beverage to claim back your deposit.
HOW MUCH IS IT?
The deposit is only $3 for the cup and $2 for the lid.
DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR A CUP AND A LID?
Not necessarily. But we do encourage you to take advantage of both and save any waste going to landfill.
CAN I STILL ORDER A SMALL SIZE DRINK?
Absolutely. We will use the same beverage ratios as an 8oz cup and just put it in the 12oz RTRNA cup.
WHAT DO I DO FOR TEXT ORDERS?
Too easy. Just add the letters “RT” to the end of your text order and we will know to put it in a RTRNA Cup for you.
CAN I JUST KEEP THE CUP?
Unfortunately, no. The cups belong to the RTRNA Cup Network and the system relies on the maximum number of cups in circulation at any one time. Do your best to return the cups each time you come in.
WHAT IS THE CUP MADE OF?
RTRNA Cups and lids are made out of taste neutral, BPA free, food-grade polypropylene (plastic number 5). What most quality reusable cups are made of.
DOES LITTLE SISTO MAKE MONEY OFF THE CUPS?
Nope. We have paid the same deposit as you do to be able to use these cups. We’ve put a deposit on just enough cups to ensure we can service all of our customers. We are committed to reducing our waste so we absorb the additional cost involved with cleaning the cups for re-use.
WHAT IS THE RTRNA CUP NETWORK?
Little Sisto is part of a Network of responsible cafes utilising the RTRNA Cup. You are also welcome to return your cup to any other participating cafe. Check the RTRNA Cup website for details.
